Radon Mitigation in Albany, Indiana

A useful side effect worth counting: a properly sealed crawl space is usually a drier crawl space, which is good for joists, subfloor, and the musty smell that migrates upstairs. Radon in private well water

This is the piece that rarely gets covered, and it matters disproportionately out here because so many rural Delaware County homes draw from private wells.

Groundwater passing through uranium-bearing rock picks up dissolved radon. That radon stays in solution until the water is agitated, at which point it comes out into your indoor air. Showering is the big one; dishwashers and washing machines contribute.

Municipal supplies are treated and monitored, and systems drawing from surface water are generally not a concern. Private wells are neither treated nor monitored, which is the entire distinction.

The practical order of operations:
